Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.

American actor Finn, who was seen in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California this Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.

"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a message.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

A Prolific Career on Screen

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.

Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
